Build + Services
Builder assistance, Aerolite assembly options, pre-purchase inspections and CFI referrals from people who work with light aircraft every day.
Builder assistance
Hands-on guidance for owners who want to participate in the build rather than hand the project over and disappear.
Build your aircraft with experienced help.
Our in-house Challenger Builder Assistance Program can allow you to build an aircraft in as little as five days. The program is built around you doing the work with our assistance and guidance, with the goal of satisfying the amateur-built “51% rule.”
For the Aerolite 103 quick-build kit, we estimate about 30–40 hours for a first-time builder and less than 30 hours for an experienced builder. Contracted Aerolite assembly is also available through a dealer for $4,000.
- Owner participation with experienced shop guidance
- Assembly sequence, fit-up and rigging support
- Engine, propeller, instrument and systems installation support
- Progress photography during Challenger builder-assistance work

Pre-purchase inspections
If you are considering an aircraft you cannot inspect in person, we offer a traveling pre-purchase inspection service.
Know what you are buying.
We serve the eastern half of the United States and may travel to other areas. The inspection includes a thorough aircraft inspection plus overall and detailed photographs.
- Travel to the aircraft location
- Complete and thorough aircraft inspection
- Approximately 30–40 overall and detailed photographs
- Detailed report and photos emailed within 24 hours of return from the inspection
- Phone discussion from the inspection site when possible
- Optional help acting as purchasing agent and coordinating shipment
Inspection quote
Inspection pricing depends on the aircraft location and travel required. Send the aircraft type, location and seller details for a quote.
Flight instruction referrals
We no longer provide regular flight instruction, but we can help connect pilots with instructors.
Instruction stopped in 2016.
After providing instruction to students and pilots for nearly 20 years, we stopped offering regular instruction in 2016 because aircraft-manufacturing demand required our time. If you need training, contact us for CFI referrals in various parts of the country.
Need an instructor?
Tell us where you are located and what aircraft or training you need help with.
Ask for a CFI referralTalk through the job.
Assembly, inspection and support work is easier to scope in a real conversation. Call or email with the aircraft model, location and what you need done.
